Fans of ‘Count’ Randal McDonnell will be happy to hear that the Irish socialite, though disappeared from the Irish social scene and the world of the Hon Gareth Browne of Luggala, is alive and well and is now a gracious ornament to the social whirl in Tangier Morocco. In the Maghreb he is the life and soul of the rather grand world of English ex-pats and remittance men led ny his dear friend Jonathan Dawson. The ‘Count’ is much sought after for his advice on Irish silver (see the attached article). He was, after all, born with a silver spoon in his mouth! He was sadly missed at the Hon Gareth Browne’s 70th birthday party which lacked lustre without Randal but there was a bit of lustre from what remains of the Hons family silver.
